3PAR Utility Storage Honored By TheInfoPro

By Doug Caverly

If you ever find yourself looking for a provider of utility storage (or trying to see who a chief competitor is), it seems that 3PAR may deserve a second glance. Not one but two of its offerings were given top rankings by TheInfoPro following the Wave 11 Storage Study.

A press release acknowledges, "Among the most exciting vendor products in use by midsize enterprises (defined by TIP as those organizations with revenues between $150 million and $1 billion) the 3PAR InServ E200 Storage Server was ranked #1 by study participants. Among Fortune 1000 organizations, the 3PAR InServ S800 Storage Server tied for the #1 position."

This seems to mean that all but the smallest organizations would do well to embrace 3PAR's lineup. And there aren't even red warning flags to see in that case, either.

Robert Stevenson, TIP's Managing Director of Storage Research, discussed the study by stating, "3PAR has nudged their way to the top in recent waves of the study and, with 3PAR's product innovation combined with the end users interviewed citing their plans to remain loyal, it's not a surprise to see them holding their position there."

3PAR's rolled out at least one new product since the study's start, so it looks to have a good lead heading into next year, too.
