Super Micro Presents New Storage/Server Product

Small businesses that may be getting squeezed by the recession are at least receiving a nod from Super Micro. The company has introduced a new storage and server system designed to meet all of their needs.

In terms of physical size, the SuperServer 5035L-iB is described as "mini," so it won't take over a home office or tiny rented space. It should be easy to install, too, and quiet once running. Super Micro is even promising that the product is energy-efficient.

"For the first time, customers have the opportunity to choose a truly optimized SOHO server and storage solution that features Supermicro's enterprise-level quality and technology at a highly affordable price point," said Charles Liang, CEO and president of Super Micro, in a statement.

"For example," he continued, "the SuperServer 5035L's high-efficiency 300-watt power supply achieves levels of energy efficiency previously available only in enterprise server installations."

Pricing hasn't yet been pinned down yet, so we can't promise that this represents any sort of dream come true, but all signs are pointing in the right direction so far. Small businesses that have a need and a little bit cash might consider the SuperServer 5035L as a holiday present to themselves.
